Komisioneri për Zgjerim e Bashkimit Evropian, Oliver Varhelyi, teksa ndodhet në Tiranë, ka thënë se po punon fort që Shqipërisë dhe Maqedonisë së Veriut t’i hapen negociatat për Anëtarësim në BE.
Duke folur në konferencën e përbashkët me Varheley, Rama i ka shprehur mirënjohjen atij duke thënë se tashmë po e presin si mik që po ndihmon Shqipërinë drejt Bashkimit Evropian.

Që në momentin e parë pas rënies së tërmetit që solli një tragjedi në jetën tonë u angazhua personalsiht dhe në mënyrë të vijueshme është interesuar në mënyrë të drejtëpërdrejë për të marrë informacion mbi ecurinë e situatës, qoftë edhe për të sensibilizuar.
Në funskion të nevojës së madhe për mbështetje. Ishte pikërisht ai që vuri në lëvizje mekanzimin e fondit të parë për të ndihmuar në atë moment emergjencën e madhe. Sot kemi vazhduar diskutimin për konferencën e Donatorëve që do të mbahen në Bruksel me 17 shkurt. Komisioneri është tërësisht i angazhuar. Ne momente të vështira kemi pasur mundësinë të çmojmë miqtë e vendit tonë. Jam i kënaqur që sot e presim si mik të shqiptarëve” tha Rama.
