Kishe piskatë me kërku ndihmë,
kishe me trokitë dyerve të qeverive.
Por rri i qetë,
nuk asht yt bir.

Mundesh me fjetë i qetë
E krejt i sigurt.
Nuk asht yt bir.
Asht thjesht fëmija i humanizmit të humbur,
i humanizmit të ndytë, që nuk ban zhurmë.

Nuk asht yt bir.
Flej i qetë,

Janë këto vargje të poetit që u përhapën para ca vitesh kur u dukën pamjet e fëmijëve sirianë të mbytur në breg të detit. Jashtëzakonisht prekëse. Tejet të sakta e therëse për shumicën e njerëzve. Me përjashtim të atyre që nuk u dhimbsen fëmijët e as refugjatët, por idhujt e tyre politikë mitikë.

Edhe përpara atyre pamjeve të tmerrshme, jashtëzakonisht prekëse nuk guxojnë ta thonë të vërtetën. Nuk guxojnë e madje as nuk duan ta thonë se burimi i krizës siriane asht regjimi kriminal i dinastisë kriminale të asadëve, pushtues të vërtetë të nji vendi që kurrë nuk i deshi dhe kurrë nuk e deshën.

Asht karrigia e pushtetit ma e shtrenjtë në historinë njerëzimit në dekadat e fundit.
