Por ndryshe nga Greqia ku raportohen të kenë humbur jetën 38 persona, në Shqipëri autoritetet raportojnë vetëm dy humbje jete, dy gra mbi 60 të cilat janë konfirmuar se ishin me sëmundje kronike dhe ishin prekur edhe nga virusi i gripit. Këto në javën e tretë të muajit të janarit. Në javën e parë të muajit shkurt ka pasur 139 raste me sëmundje tepër të rëndë respiratore akute.
Por numri i të prekurve me grip mund të jetë edhe më i lartë, pasi jo të gjithe shkojnë te mjeku kur janë me grip. Gjithsesi ekspertë të Shëndetësisë vlerësojnë se ky është piku i sezonit të gripit dhe pritet që këtë javë numri i rasteve të prekur në një javë të ulët.
Por përveç epidemisë së gripit sistemi është në alert për të parandaluar përhapjen e koronavirusit, pasi ndonëse në Evropë ka raste sporadike në vatren e shpërthimit ka një transmetim të shpeshtë dhe tanimë është rritur edhe numri i vdekshmërisë.
