“Ne kemi urdhëruar Ambasadorin e Shqipërisë në Suedi që të bojkotojë ceremoninë solemne të ndarjes së Çmimit Nobel për Letërsi për Peter Handken. Justifikimi i mizorive të luftës gjatë shpërbërjes së Jugosllavisë nuk duhet të shpërblehet.
Çdo shpërblim i personaliteteve që kanë mohuar gjenocidin edhe nëpërmjet veprave të tyre letrare, vetëm forcon prirjet për t’iu shmangur përgjegjësive historike dhe relativizuar peshën e rëndë të krimeve të luftës, pastrimit etnik dhe gjenocidit,” shkruan Cakaj.
Çmimi Nobel në Letërsi për Peter Handken, i njohur si adhurues i Millosheviçit, u kundërshtua fort nga Kosova e Shqipëria. Handke ka shkaktuar zemërim në Ballkan dhe me gjerë, për shkak të mbështetjes së zëshme për ish-presidentin serb, Sllobodan Millosheviç, gjatë luftërave në ish-Jugosllavi, në vitet 1990.
