Ashtu si misteri i dyerve te vjetrueme e i mureve te nalta te ksaj rrugice, me kuriozonte edhe nji kalimtar i moshuem, me pamje te mjerueme e te lodhun, qi përshkohej aty pothuejse çdo mesditë. Kasketa e vjetër e rrasun mbi sy, nuk pengonte me vrojtue te i mjeri, tiparet e nji burrit fisnik, me fytyrë te mprehtë, me sy gri e autoritar, mustakë te thinjun e te dendun, e nji hundë me kurriz, si shkabë malesh
Korpi i tij kocë e lkurë, i mbluem me nji pallto te vjetër te arnueme, kambët me plagë e shika prej galosheve te çame qi i tërhiqte zvarrë, dy duer te thata plot njolla te zeza qi i dridheshin, qindronte ne kambë ndihmue prej bastuni te moçëm me dru bjeshket.

N’mesditen e asaj dite t’kristalizueme, tuj çapitë kadalë, skamnori plak, po bante metrat e fundit për me mbrritë te dera e nji familjes zemerbardhë, qi për mshirë shpenzonte çdo ditë vaktin e mesditës për te, kur nga bryli i rrugës (te shpija e Gjonejve), po duket nji alamet burri. Veshja tij, pardesyja teritalit me rryp në mes, pantallonat e ngrituna mbi nyje t’kambës si dhe kasketa stil kinez, i jepte atij nji pamje qesharake, por te frigshme sigurimsit. Mbasi ktheu kryet mbrapa, siç duket me u sigurue qi ishte vetëm, tuj injorue prezencën teme, ju afrue plakut dhe filloj me i folë tanë inat e zëmrim, me nji ton urrejtje qi mue m’drithtoj ma shumë se te ftohtit. Shfrynte, shante e turfullonte me egërsi tuj i pengue rrugën viktimës, deri qi e rrasi për mur.
Mandej, zgjati doren tuj e mbërthye t’mjerin e pafuqishëm prej jaket, e afroj drejt vedit dhe e pështyu mbi ftyrë, At Marku, i mbeshtetun mundishëm mbi bastuni e vet, tuj mos dashtë me u përballë me te keqen, u mundue pa bëza, tuj i kthye shpinden, me vazhdue rrugën. Sigurimsi, qi u ndi i sfiduem, me sa fuqi pat, i shkelmoj bastunin plakut qi hupi drejtpeshen u rrëzue tuj përplasun mbi ngricën e rrugës kryet e ftyren, qi ju mblue ne gjak.
Edhe sot e ksaj dite, nuk di se si nuk m’plasi zemra, tuj mbetë i palëvizun si gur zallit, i pafuqishëm me vu dorë mbi çka ndodhi.
