Raportohet se tërmeti ka qenë me epiqendër 35 kilometra në jug të Chanias në Greqi. Ai është ndjerë nga banorët rreth orës 15:35 të pasdites.
Gjatë këtyre 31 orëve të fundit, zona e Kretës në Greqi është tronditur nga disa tërmete. Ky me magnitudë 4.5 ka qenë lëkundja e tretë brenda këtyre orëve.
