I riu ishte prekur nga COVID-19 dhe pasi kishte lënë spitalin për shkak se nuk ishte në gjendje të rëndë, u vetëizolua në shtëpi. Testi i parë rezultoi negativ duke rritur shpresën për shërim të plotë, dhe ishte në pritje që t’i merrej tamponi për testin e dytë. Por mbrëmë ai është gjetur i pajetë në shtëpi, ndërsa dyshohet se vdekja mund të ketë ardhur si pasojë e pneunomisë.
