Bashkimi Europian ka marrë masa drastike sa I përket situatës me koronavirusin përderisa tashmë është dhe vatra e rrezikshmërisë së botës.

Pas një takimi të G7, presidentja e KE doli me konkluzionet teksa paraqiti pezullimin 30 ditor të udhëtimeve jo thelbësore në Bashkimin Europian i jep përparësi transportit thelbësor për të mbajtur sektorin e lëvizshmërisë dhe për të siguruar vazhdimësinë ekonomike

Masa përjashton anëtarët e zonës Shengen mes të cilave është dhe Shqipëria nga të cilët mjekët, infermierët dhe punonjësit e tjerë të kujdesit shëndetësor dhe shtetasit e vendeve të treta që punojnë në një zonën Shenen/ Pritet të miratohet zyrtarisht nesër në thirrjen e konferencës së Këshillit Evropian.

Siç tha z. Von der Leyen në një konferencë për shtyp pas konferencës G7, rekomandimi i Komisionit erdhi pas “konsultimeve të gjera” me vendet anëtare gjatë fundjavës. Masa drastike ka fituar mbështetjen e fortë të anëtarëve të Shengenit por jo vetëm edhe të Zvicrës, Norvegjisë, Islandës dhe Lihtenshtajnit. Shtetet anëtare të BE së por jo në Shengen si Qipro, Kroacia, Bullgaria, Irlanda dhe Rumania gjithashtu pritet të zbatojnë ndalimin.
