Iu premtua se gjatë vitit 2019, që ishte edhe viti i 100 vjetorit të Vllaznisë, do ti jepej titulli “Mjeshtër i Madh” por kjo kjo nuk ka ndodhur. Vildan Tufi, trajneri i shquar i atletikës së Vllaznisë por edhe i kombëtares shqiptare, ndjehet keq për të. E ka thjesht për sadisfaksion një titull të tillë sepse në karrierë ka arritur gjithçka. Por atë e mundon fakti që nga duart etij ka nxjerrë tre sportistë të cilët e kanë marrë këtë titull, ndërkohë që ai vetë ‘jo’

Për këtë arsye, për “Shkodra Sport” trajneri i mirënjohur e shpreh këtë keqardhje duke thënë: “Kam stërvitur tre Mjeshtra të Mëdhenj, tre kampionë dhe rekordmenë të shquar të atletikës shqiptare dhe për çudi ende nuk është kujtuar askush për mua, ndonëse u tha se do të kishte nderime të tjera nga institucioni i Presidentit të Republikës.

Kam stërvitur Vera Bregun, një sportiste e cila ka vendosur rekorde që ende nuk janë thyer në garën e kërcimit së gjati me 6.53 metra dhe në trehapësh me 13.51 metra. Pjesmarrëse në Lojërat Olimpike në Lojërat Olimpike në vitin 1996 në Atlanta të SHBA-së. Po ashtu, dy herë kampione Ballkani dhe fituese e shumë e shumë medaljeve në gara ndërkombëtare.

Pas saj erdhi Arbana Xhani, 20 vite kampione absolute në garat e shpejtësisë, 100 dhe 200 metra si dhe stafetë. Edhe ajo fituese e disa medaljeve në arenën ndërkombëtare.

Rasti i tretë është ai i Izmir Smajlajt. Kthehemi nga Beogradi me titullin Kampion Europe dhe pas një jave i jepet edhe titulli “Mjeshtër i Madh” sepse e meritonte. Ndërkohë, ekipit kombëtar të futbollit, vetëm pse doli në 16-shen e Europës, plot 26 pjestarëve të këtij ekipi iu dha titulli “Mjeshtër i Madh”. Pra komplet ekipit, me atë kënaqësinë e madhe që na solli me atë sukses.

Ndërkohë unë kam përjetuar emocione të jashtëzakonshme me Smajlajn në Beograd ku u ngrit flamuri shqiptar dhe në ato momente të më jepnin pasuri të pamatë, nuk do ti ndërroja me atë sukses që arrita me këtë sportist. E prisja edhe unë një nderim të tillë si sportisti im por ky nderim për çudi nuk erdhi kurrë. Diçka vërtetë absurde dhe kuptohet që është mosvlerësim i kontributit tim në këtë sport”
