Zak Topouzi, që drejton shoqatën e hoteleri-turizmit në Shqipëri thotë se ekonomia po humbet miliona euro në ditë.
“Prenotimet në hotele kanë rënë me 20 për qind. Janë bllokuar totalisht konferencat dhe turet, të cilat për këtë periudhë janë burimi kryesor i hoteleve” tha Zak Topuzi, kreu i Shoqatës së Hoteleri Turizmit.
Turizmi sjell gati 2 miliardë euro të ardhura në vit për ekonominë shqiptare duke qenë burimi kryesor i valutës në vend, edhe më shumë se investimet e huaja. Agjencitë turistike tani i druhen skenarit se bllokada e udhëtimeve mund të shtrihet edhe gjatë muajve të verës, që është piku i sezonit.
“Nuk bëhet fjalë vetëm në ardhje. Shpresa ishte se do të zgjidhej shpejt, por situata kaotike e marsit ka krijuar më shumë shqetësim për sezoni” vijon Enver Mehmeti.
Operatorët turistikë thonë se po pësojnë humbje të mëdha dhe do të kërkojnë ndihmën e qeverisë, ashtu si në Itali.
Vitet e fundit turizmi ka qenë sektori kryesor që ka mbajtur në këmbë rritjen ekonomike, teksa energjia dhe ndërtimi kanë patur ecuri më të luhatshme. Situata e krijuar nga epidemia globale e koronavirusit mund të jetë një goditje jo e vogël për rritjen ekonomike të këtij viti, duke frenuar pikërisht sektorin lokomotiv të saj, atë të turizmit.
