Tre ditë pas vdekjes së Nexhmije Hoxhës, ndahet nga jeta në moshën 97-vjeçare ish-numri dy i Partisë Komuniste, Vito Kapo, e veja e Hysni Kapos. Ajo ka qenë një nga figurat më të rëndësishme të PPSH-së dhe ka mbajtur poste shumë të rëndësishme gjatë periudhës komuniste. Vito Kapo ndërroi jetë sot pranë familjarëve të saj në Tiranë.

Vito Kapo ka qenë ish ministre e industrisë së lehtë në vitet 1987-1990 si dhe ish-kryetare e Bashkimit të Grave para viteve 90.

Kapo, gjithashtu u angazhua në formacionet partizane, fillimisht si sekretare e Enver Hoxhës pranë Shtabit të Përgjithshëm në Helmës dhe Odriçan, në nëntor 1944 deri në maj të 1945 në Komitetin Qendror të PK.
