Ngjarja e Mentor Rexhes / Ministria e Jashtme: Jemi të angazhuar për kthimin e shpejtë të trupit në atdhe

Në një deklaratë për mediet, bëhet me dije se MEPJ ka informacion nga autoritetet e policisë franceze, të cilat kanë sqaruar se Rexha është vetëvrarë në ambientet e burgut francez të qytetit Lorient gjatë natës së 31 janarit 2020.

Për këtë ngjarje, Ambasada shqiptare në Francë është njoftuar nga të afërmit e të ndjerit ditën e diel, datë 2 shkurt 2020, dhe që nga ajo ditë e në vazhdim, shërbimi konsullor i Ambasadës ka qenë në kontakt të vazhdueshëm me familjarët e tij, për të mundësuar vendosjen e kontakteve me qendrën penitenciare të Lorient, si dhe për të lehtësuar udhëtimin e njërit prej familjarëve të tij nga Italia në Francë.

Ambasada shqiptare në Francë njofton se, që nga momenti i njohjes me ngjarjen, ka përcjellë nga afër çdo praktikë ligjore dhe ka qëndruar në kontakte të pandërprera me familjarët e shtetasit shqiptar, Mentor Rexha.

Ditën e shtunë, datë 8 shkurt 2020, të afërmit mundën të vizitojnë trupin e të ndjerit. Gjatë kontaktit me Ambasadën shqiptare, ata shprehën dyshime lidhur me shkaqet e vdekjes së tij.

Bazuar në këto pretendime, Ambasada shqiptare në Francë ka kërkuar informacion suplementar nga autoritetet franceze mbi ngjarjen dhe ka sugjeruar që paralelisht familja e të ndjerit të kontaktojë një avokat për ndjekjen e çështjes nga ana ligjore.

Ambasada është në pritje të një informacioni zyrtar më të detajuar nga ana e autoriteteve policore dhe gjyqësore franceze, në lidhje me të gjitha pretendimet dhe dyshimet e ngritura nga të afërmit e shtetasit Mentor Rexha.

Në lidhje me procedurat e kthimit të trupit të shtetasit Mentor Rexha në Shqipëri, Ambasada i ka informuar familjarët sipas legjislacionit në fuqi.

Ministria për Evropën dhe Punët e Jashtme, si dhe Ambasada shqiptare në Francë mbeten të angazhuara për zbardhjen e ngjarjes me autoritetet franceze dhe kthimin e shpejtë të trupit të të ndjerit në atdhe.
