Duke iu referuar largimit të kandidatit të PS-së për Shkodrën, Valdrin Pjetri nga ligji i dekriminalizimit për shkak të kaluarës së tij, por edhe dyshimeve për 5 kryebashkiakë të tjerë të PS-së si të “kriminalizuar”, Bushati gjatë intervistës në studion e Ilva Now në Euronews Albania u shpreh se, nevojitet reflektim dhe ndryshim i rregullave për përzgjedhjen e kandidatëve.
“Simon Perez ka pasur një shprehje shumë interesante ku thoshte; kur humbet kundërshtarin, humbet politikën. 30 Qershori mund të përshkruhet pak a shumë me këto fjalë. Në kushtet kur opozita prodhoi një rrugë ekstreme, zhbënë disa rregulla dhe mekanizma që vetë sistemi demokratik i ka qoftë në mënyrë të pashprehur. Kjo pasi është ndryshe kur je vetëm në zgjedhe dhe ndryshe kur matesh me kundërshtar. Kur ke kundërshtar, përfshihen më shumë strukturat vendimmarrëse në mënyrë që të përzgjedhësh një kandidat sa më të mirë.
Duhet të kemi një debat dhe diskutim të ndershme këtu, mes përgjegjësisë individuale dhe përgjegjësisë politike. Shkodra është një mundësi për të reflektuar, për të ndryshuar disa rregulla për mënyrën se si në të ardhmen do të duhet të përzgjedhim kandidatët, qoftë për deputet apo kryetar bashkie” theksoi deputeti i PS-së.
